Clarity and reassurance for a sensitive healthcare journey
A patient-centred digital experience that turns complex home-dialysis information into calm, understandable next steps.
The challenge
Healthcare decisions are rarely made in ideal circumstances. Patients and families may be tired, anxious or encountering unfamiliar clinical language, while professional referrers need concise and dependable service information. The challenge was to create a website that could carry clinical credibility without feeling institutional, and explain a specialist home-dialysis offer without asking visitors to decode the service for themselves.
Our approach
We began with information hierarchy rather than decoration. Content was organised around the questions a patient or family member is most likely to ask: what the service is, who it may help, what support is available and how to start a conversation. Shorter sections, meaningful headings and deliberate repetition of contact routes reduce cognitive load while allowing clinical detail to remain available when it becomes relevant.

Experience and accessibility
The visual system uses calm spacing, restrained colour and predictable page patterns to build reassurance. Responsive layouts preserve the reading order on small screens, links and controls are designed to remain easy to identify, and heading levels give assistive technology a reliable outline. Plain-language editing, useful alternative text and strong contrast were treated as part of the service design—not a compliance exercise added at the end.
Engineering, performance and maintainability
We delivered a flexible WordPress implementation with reusable content components, clearly managed service information and an editorial structure the team can update without breaking the presentation. Performance work focused on appropriately sized media, controlled third-party scripts, efficient templates and cache-friendly assets so important guidance appears quickly, including on mobile connections. Technical SEO foundations support service discovery while semantic markup helps search engines and assistive technologies understand the page structure.
