Turning a broad training offer into simple journeys
A structured cycle-training platform that helps schools, families, adults and instructors find the right programme and enquire with confidence.
The challenge
Bikeability and cycle training span multiple audiences, levels and delivery settings. A school coordinator looking for a programme has different questions from a parent, an adult learner or a prospective instructor. The challenge was to organise a sizeable course offer without flattening those differences, while keeping administration practical for a team managing real-world training schedules and enquiries.
Our approach
We mapped the service around audience, ability and course type. The homepage provides immediate orientation, while individual course pages use consistent patterns for purpose, suitability and next steps. Calls to action are placed after the information needed to make a decision, not simply repeated without context. This structure reduces uncertainty for learners and produces more useful enquiries for the programme team.

Experience and accessibility
Friendly imagery and direct language reflect the practical, community-centred nature of the work. Responsive layouts keep course details readable on phones used in schools, at home or on the move. We considered keyboard access, heading order, descriptive links, touch-target size and contrast throughout. Forms use clear labels and validation so completion remains understandable when something needs correcting.
Engineering, performance and maintainability
We created tailored course structures, categorisation and enquiry workflows rather than forcing the programme into a generic brochure template. Secure participant forms and practical administration tools reduce repetitive handling and give staff consistent information to work with. Reusable components support new levels, locations and programme updates. Performance work included lean front-end assets, controlled image sizes and cache-aware delivery, while clear URLs and structured content strengthen local and programme-specific search visibility.
