A publishing and membership platform built around real operations
A substantial digital platform connecting public policy publishing, events, membership, gated resources and CRM-led administration.
The challenge
RSN serves public visitors, member organisations, policy professionals, partners and internal administrators. Each audience needs different content and permissions, while membership data must remain aligned with the organisation’s operational systems. The legacy platform also held a large archive that could not simply be discarded. The challenge was therefore architectural as much as visual: modernise the experience, preserve valuable content and remove repetitive administration without weakening governance.
Our approach
We mapped public publishing, member journeys and internal workflows as connected systems. Content architecture separates news, campaigns, publications, events, directories and subscriber resources while maintaining routes between related material. Access decisions are expressed through clear membership levels rather than scattered page exceptions. Editors receive reusable patterns and filters that make a complex archive practical to manage.

Experience and accessibility
The public interface prioritises scanning, topical discovery and clear status indicators for restricted content. Member actions, login states and event information remain consistent across devices. Accessibility work covers semantic templates, keyboard navigation, visible focus, contrast, form guidance and predictable error handling. Responsive layouts protect dense policy content from becoming unreadable, while media and embeds are handled so they do not disrupt reading order.
Engineering, performance and maintainability
Neea created a bespoke Capsule CRM integration plugin that synchronises organisations and people with WordPress membership records, supports invitations and registration, handles profile and password workflows, and enforces multi-level access to protected URLs and posts. Administrative tools provide member previews, autocomplete, selection controls, exports and notification workflows—saving staff from repeated spreadsheet reconciliation and manual account handling. The integration includes validation, duplicate protection and auditable status handling so automation remains safe.
Additional custom work includes an RSN event manager, event templates, RSVP and schedule patterns, filtered-post components, content-collection tools and migration utilities for moving legacy and inline media into structured WordPress content. Performance-specific must-use code, cache controls, responsive assets and query review support a large archive. Integrations and background tasks are designed with failure states and operational recovery in mind, rather than assuming every API request will succeed.
